Markers nestles in the rural village of Uffculme, Mid Devon.

In 2010 Markers won a Gold Award from the Elderly Accommodation Counsel, for Housing for Older People, as the Best UK Retirement Housing Scheme of between 30-44 homes.  It was entirely resident chosen.

Built in stages since 1978, there are 46 properties including a combination of bedsits, one and two bedroom flats, houses and bungalows. 

 

The scheme has a number of facilities including a communal lounge, small laundry, and allotments for the more active.  Markers is set in extensive landscaped grounds with allotments and a duck pond.

A wide variety of day to day activities take place including coffee mornings, charitable fundraising, table top sales and bingo.

 

The village of Uffculme offers a wide range of facilities including a post office, local shops, church, doctor's surgery and pub.  It also has a regular bus service to both the Exeter and Taunton areas.

Both Support Advisors actively work with residents to enable good quality independent living.

 

Our Older People’s Support Advisors offer a range of services:
• Individually assessed support and advice from trained staff
• Active promotion of independent living
• Direct links to a community alarm system
