Helping people to volunteer

Volunteering can be a most rewarding thing to do.  It can help promote physical and mental health, it can improve social contacts, it can lead to work, it can improve self confidence and esteem, but…it can also be difficult!

* h2o can help *

Our experienced volunteer mentors know what it is like to volunteer, and know what commitment is required. They can help you take those steps.

Why homeless 2 opportunities?
The h2o project is part of Westcountry Housing North Devon (formerly Community Projects North Devon), a local charitable
organisation helping vulnerable people.

We recognise that occasionally people would like to volunteer as a away of recovering control of their lives, but find some of
the barriers too big!

Located within our Jigsaw Projects, h2o helps people who are homeless, or have suffered homelessness, to access volunteering
opportunities, either within CPND, or elsewhere.

h2o has been supported by a grant from Crisis – the national charity for single homeless people and is a Westcountry project. With thanks to the Department of Health Opportunities for
Volunteers Fund.

h2o will help match clients to appropriate roles, which take into account clients’ capabilities, skills, development needs, interests and aspirations.

h2o will give support to clients to ensure their contribution to community organisations is valued and valuable.

h20 will assist clients to find appropriate training courses or further education.

h20 will assist organisations in finding the right volunteer and also maintain contact ensuring both the clients, and the organisations needs are being met.
