Daison Crescent

We are constantly looking for opportunities to develop new sites for people in housing need.  Here is a summary of some of our current projects.

Daison Crescent, Torquay

We are currently constructing 8 timber frame houses with rainwater collection systems for rent on this site in Torquay.  Coyde Construction are nearing completion on site and residents should be moving in by the Winter.

Hatherleigh

Millwood Homes are developing around 110 homes in Hatherleigh and Westcountry Housing Association is working with this developer to provide 41 affordable homes for rent and low cost home ownership.

Poltair Road, Penryn

We have recently agreed terms with Wainhomes to provide six houses for rent as part of the overall development in the village.These units have been funded by Carrick District Council from money received from the second homes council tax charge levied in the country.  We plan to start work on these new homes in November 2006 with completions in early Spring 2007.

South Devon College site, Torquay

The demolition of the old college is now complete and construction work has started which will provide approximately 57 affordable homes for both rental and low cost home ownership.  This mixed site is being developed in partnership with Barratt Homes.  The first homes will be completed in late 2007.

Broadclose – Bude

The Association is working on this joint project with The Guinness Trust, Midas Homes and North Cornwall District Council to provide 173 new homes in Bude. Of this number around 60 homes will be affordable rented accommodation, a similar number for sale on a shared ownership basis and the remainder for outright sale. The project started in March 2005 with the first completed properties due in May/June 2006. The anticipated completion of the project is expected in 2008

A partnership has been formed with The Guinness Trust and Plymouth City Council to undertake major redevelopment of this site. The pre-war flats, which were previously on this site, have now been demolished and work is due to start on around 100 new houses and flats in October 2005. Residents who had previously lived in the flats many of whom will be returning to the new homes being constructed have been heavily invloved in the final design.

Goldenbank – Falmouth

We have recently completed 5 affordable homes for rent. We have now agreed terms with Wainhomes to construct a further 12 houses for rent and work should start in early 2007 and complete in the late Summer 2007.
