How do I apply for the Right to Acquire?

Contact Home Ownership Services in the first instance who will advise whether you have the Right to Acquire. You will need to complete an application form (RTA1), which you should sign and return to the Torquay office. If you are a joint tenant all tenants must sign.

 

You will not have the Right to Acquire if the Court has served an Order for Possession against you.

 

After processing your application we will provide you with details about the price of your property and the amount of discount which is offered. The amount of discount you receive will depend on where you live. These are fixed amounts published by the Government and currently range from £9,000 to £16,000.
