Who has the Right to Buy?

Residents who have a secure tenancy have the Right to Buy. Mostly, this will apply to residents who have been our tenants since February 1989. Some residents may have inherited this right as a consequence of carrying out a mutual exchange of tenancies

Assured and Shorthold tenants do not have the Right to Buy.

Contact the Neighbourhoods Team and ask for the 'Right to Buy' claim form (Form RTB1). Please complete and return this form, then the information will be used by determine:

* Whether you have the Right to Buy.

* How much discount you will receive.

The Neighbourhoods Team who will be able to answer any of your questions and can send you a Government guide on Right to Buy if you wish.
