How to Pay

Below are a range of available options for you to pay your rent and service charge.

BY POST:
Cheques and/or Postal Orders can be forwarded to the Association at either the Torquay or Plymouth office, which should be made payable to ‘Westcountry Housing Association'.  Please state both your tenant reference if you know it (10 digit number as stated on your Payment Card (see below) and rent statement), and/or name and tenancy address on the reverse.  Your account will be credited on the day the cheque or Postal Order is received.

AT THE POST OFFICE:
Cash and cheque payments can be made at any Post Office free of charge, accompanied by a Payment Card or Giro-slip.  Cheques should be made payable to ‘Post Office Limited’.  Please allow 1 working day for processing.

THROUGH A BANK/BUILDING SOCIETY:

Standing Order
Payments can be sent directly from your Bank or Building Society account by way of a Standing Order.  Please contact the Income Services Team (see below) for a Standing Order form.  Please allow 4 working days for processing.

Direct Debit
Direct Debit payments made from a bank or building society account. Please contact the Income Services Team who can set up a Direct Debit over the phone or send you a Direct Debit mandate.  Payments reach your account the same day as leaving the bank or building society account.

IN PERSON:
Cheque, cash, Debit Card and Postal Order payments are accepted at our Torquay and Plymouth Offices or alternatively you can pay your Housing Officer when visiting you.  Your account will be credited the day your payment is received.

INTERNET:
Debit Card payments can be made to allpay, Westcountry’s agents for processing payments, by clicking here. Payments reach your account the next working day.

BY TELEPHONE:
Payments by Debit Card can be made over the telephone.  Please contact Income Services (see below) for this service.  Your account will be credited on the day the 'phone call is received.
 
PAYPOINT:
Payments can be made at any PayPoint shop free of charge, accompanied by a Payment Card.  All PayPoints take cash payments, but some shops also take cheques, Debit Cards and Credit Cards. Please allow 2 working days for processing.

PAYZONE:

Payments made at any payzone shop free of charge, accompanied by a Payment Card.  All payzones take cash and debit card payments, but some shops also take cheques and credit cards. Payments reach your account the next working day.

E-PAY:

Payments made at any e-pay shop, freeof charge, accompanied by a Payment Card.  All e-pay shops take cash and debit card payments, but some shops also take cheques and credit cards. Payments reach your account the next working day.

HOUSING BENEFIT:
Housing Benefit claimants can ask the Council to send the payments directly to the Association on your behalf. Such payments are generally received 4 weekly in arrears.  Your account will be credited on the day the Housing Benefit is received by the Association.

BENEFIT DEDUCTIONS:
Income Support and Job Seeker's Allowance claimants whose rent/service charge account is in arrears of more than 4 weeks and the arrears have been on the account for more than 8 weeks, can have a set amount deducted from these benefits, which is then paid directly to the Association by the Benefits Agency.  Please contact the Income Services Team (see below) for more information.  Your account will be credited on the day the Payment is received by the Association.

EMPLOYER:
By agreement, deductions can be made by an employer from wages/salary, which are then forwarded by the employer directly to the Association.  Please contact the Income Services Team (see below) for more information.  Your account will be credited on the day the Payment is received by the Association.

WOOLWORTHS STORE:

Payments can be made at any WOOLWORTHS store free with a Payment Card. All WOOLWORTHS Stores take cash, cheques and debit cards. Payments reach your account the next working day.

WHAT IS A PAYMENT CARD?

All residents are automatically supplied with a Payment Card which is the size of a credit card.  If you need a new Payment Card, please click here  to complete the online form. Then it will be ordered for you. If you are due to make a payment before the new Payment Card arrives, please contact the Income Services Team (see below).
